Easy handmade eco bag with print.

Supplies

  • Fabric (cotton, linen or half cotton&half linen). I used thick two thread cotton.
  • Threads in fabric color
  • Acrylic paints for textile
  • Any stamps for printing (kalamkari - wooden block, linocut). I will show the process with my handmade linocut monstera leave stamp and one more option without any stamps.
  • Masking tape
  • A piece of sponge to apply the paint

Equipment:

  • Sewing machine
  • Overlock (or you can replace it with a zig-zag line on your sewing machine)

Step 1: Cut Out the Details

linocut and eco bag printing
  • Take one bag detail
  • Apply arcycil color on the stamp using a sponge
  • Make a print on fabric by pressing stamp nicely

Do not forget to place some needless fabric under your bag detail cause the paint may go through.

Let the paint dry for 24 hours. And after iron printed detail without steam and with some fabric above.

P.S. I also make a speed video that you can see how I made a stamp from linoleum using simple carving tools.
