Halloween Laser Cut Decorative Boxes

I decided that I wanted a custom designed decoration. I took inspiration from a tealight decoration I had seen elsewhere and made my own. Here is how to make it:

Supplies

To make this project you will need:

Access to a Laser Cutter

Wood or Cardboard

3d Modeling software (I used Tinkercad)

Glue (I used hot-glue

This project is fairly simple.

Outline

To begin the process of modeling, open up your 3d modeling software. Choose the dimensions you want your creation to be, and make a box that size. Make another box of a similar size, but slightly smaller so it will fit better. Take both outlines and make indents in them so they will fit better and glue better. If you wish to decorate it, you can.

Next, you will need to pick a image to put in. I chose to go with a ghost. Be original, or find a design you find suits you. Model it, then make connections to the outline.

Lasercutting

Set the model up for Lasercutting on either cardboard or wood.

Once the cut is finished, take the pieces and either hot-glue them together, or use wood glue. I used hot-glue. The smaller sides should be parallels, and the bigger sides should be as well.
