Halloween Faked Hand's Injury / Wound With Screw and Blood
In this Instructable I will explain how to make a very simple faked hand's injury / wound, caused by a screw...
I actually made it as a part of April Fool's Day Prank, but of course it can be used for other purposes as well, like a prop / accessory for Halloween costume.
Maybe a woodworker with a bleeding hand from screw and a faked bloody saw blade injury in another place. Wherever your imagination goes :)
You can watch the video in the next step of this Instructable, to see the making process and the prank itself.

The Video
This is the video of the making process, and the prank itself.
Short Background: The April Fool's Day this year, was during the Coronavirus lockdown.
As you can imagine, during a lockdown you're bored, depressed... and having some fun is always good, so I decided to make a simple prank on my wife.
I thought how to combine my woodworking hobby with usage of a faked blood I had from a previous costume.
Note that I was super careful in this prank (maybe too much), so my wife won't get panic too much, and to avoid finding myself sleeping at the living room that day. LOL...
Cutting the Screw Head
I took one screw, and cut its head using a dremel with a metal cutting disc.
The Screw Head Is Ready
Drilling Hole in the Wood
I drilled a hole in a piece of wood scrap, so I can insert another long screw to the wood.
Inserting the Long Screw
I inserted the long screw, throughout the hole.
Initial Try (1)
I took the screw head I cut before, and put it on my hand, in a position that will fit the angle of the other screw, which I inserted in the wood before.
Initial Try (2)
I put my hand on the wood piece and wrapped it.
Gluing the Screw Head
After some tries of my hand's position on the wood, and the of the screw head's position on my hand - when it looked with a logical position and angle, I glued the screw head to my hand, so it will hold while I moved freely.
Adding Some Faked Blood
I had this faked blood from a previous costume, and I used it for this 'faked injury'.
Adding Some Faked Blood (1)
I actually didn't see such real injury (and wish to never see such...), so I tried to image where should the blood be, if a screw gets through a hand and wood...
I started by putting some blood over the screw head and also some blood leaking on the side of the head.
Adding Some Faked Blood (2)
I added some blood at the top of the wood, where the other screw is inserted, and some blood leaking on the side.
Adding Some Faked Blood (3)
Finally, I added blood at the exit of the screw, at the bottom of the wood.

Putting All Together :)
I put my hand on the wood, in the same position which I tried initially, without the blood.
Final Look
What do you think? Looks good enough? :)
The Hand Removed From the Wood
Prank Time!
As I wrote at the introduction, I actually made this faked injury, as a part of April Fool's Day Prank, but it can be used for other purposes as well, like a prop / accessory for Halloween consume.
I remind that I was super careful in this prank (maybe too much), so my wife won't get panic too much.
I asked her to help me removing the screw from my hand :) Watch the video to see the result.
That's it. I hope you like my instructable!
