HOW TO CREATE a 3D FIRE HYDRANT IN 3D MODELING SOFTWARE

Screenshot (4067).png

In this tutorial article, we will 3D design a fire hydrant. The 3D modeling software that we are using is SelfCAD. The tools of SelfCAD that we will utilize are the Generators, colour picker, mirror, stitch and scoop, etc. We will begin by 3D designing a shape generator and developing it. By figuring out approaches to 3D design this fire hydrant, you will get to know how to control various instruments of SelfCAD.

So, we should start!

Activate Shape Generator and Add Two Segments

First of all, go to the generators category and select the shape generator. Set top radius to 20, bottom radius to 20, number of edges to 8 and height to 5. Then click on the ‘+’ button to add a segment. Set its top radius to 30 and bottom radius to 30.

Add Another Two Segments to the Shape

Next, add another segment and set its top radius to 25, bottom radius to 25 and height to 30. Then add another segment and set its top radius to 22, bottom radius to 22 and height to 60.

Add Further Two More Segments to the Shape

Now, we will add a new segment and set its top radius to 33, bottom radius to 30 and height to 3. Then insert another segment and set its height to 8.

Add Another Two Segments With One Bevelled Top

Next, add another segment and set its top radius to 30, and height to 3. Then add a new segment and set its top radius to 7, bottom radius to 25 and height to 35, bevel offset to 0.8, bevel level to 3 and bevel weight to 1.

Add Two More Segments to the Top

Now, we will add a new segment and set its height to 2 and bevel offset to 0. Then insert another segment and set its top radius to 3, bottom radius to 3 and height to 5. After that, finalise the shape generator.

Colour the Shape Red

Next, we will go to the colour picker option and change the colour of the selected object to red.

Activate Another Shape Generator

Now, we will again go to the generators category and select the shape generator. Set top radius to 15, bottom radius to 15, number of edges to 8 and height to 30. Then add a new segment and set its top radius to 13, bottom radius to 13 and height to 10.

Add Segments and Colour It Silver

Next, add another segment and set its top radius to 3, bottom radius to 3, number of segments to 4 and height to 5, position X to 50, position Z to 30, rotation x to 90 and rotation y to 22.5. Then finalise the shape and colour it silver.

Activate Another Shape Generator and Add Segments

Now, add a new shape generator and set its top radius to 10, bottom radius to 10, number of edges to 8 and height to 20. Then add a new segment and set its top radius to 9, bottom radius to 9 and height to 5.

Colour the Final Shape Into Silver

Next, add another segment and set its top radius to 3, bottom radius to 3, number of segments to 4, position X to -28, position Y to 77, rotation x to 22.5 and rotation z to 90. Then finalise the shape and colour it silver.

Mirror the Recently Created Shape

Now, we will go to utilities and choose the mirror option. Then click on the create copy option and set direction to right and offset to 13.

Make All the Objects a Union

Next, go to the edit menu and select all the objects. Then, go to the stitch and scoop and make all the selected objects a union.

CONCLUSION: THEREFORE, WE HAVE CREATED a FIRE HYDRANT IN SelfCAD

Screenshot (4050).png

We have 3D designed the fire hydrant in SelfCAD and we have additionally demonstrated the way that you can utilize the different tools of SelfCAD like generators and colour picker as well as other fundamental tools like mirror,  and stitch and scoop. Every one of the 3D models made in SelfCAD are 3D printable as they leave no numerical misuses that could make game-plans hard to print. Once wrapped up with the plan cycle, you can use the in-constructed slicer of SelfCAD to create the G-Code record that you can ship off your 3D printer.
