4 tablespoons all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter melted
1 scrambled egg (optional for wash)
Prep Oven and Dish
Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Place 1 pie crust in 9 inch glass pie plate. Press down firmly with fingers against side and bottom.
Slice and Mix
Peel, core, and slice all of the apples. In a large bowl, mix all of the filling ingredients together and pour into the crust lined pie plate.
Top
Place second crust on top. Wrap excess top crust under bottom edge, and press edges with fingers together to form pie edge. Cut slits on top of crust to vent the steam out. Add egg wash to the pie crust (optional - this turn your pie that golden color).
Bake
Bake 15-20 minutes and take the pie out to place aluminum foil around the pie edges to avoid over browning. Put back in oven for another 20 minutes for a total cooking time of 40-45 minutes. Let the pie cool for a few hours and serve while still warm.
