Go Big - Giant Pen

In this instructable project, I will illustrate how to make a very big pen using cardboard. The pen is very big to the extent that a whole hand has to be used to grab the pen. The pen is also extraordinarily tall.

Let’s dig in.

1. Pencil
2. Cardboard sheet
3. Pen ink (gotten from a pen with removable ink)
4. Meter rule or ruler
5. Compass
6. Glue
7. Tape

To begin, pickup the cardboard sheet and draw a circle of radius 2.5 cm, then punch its center to make a very small hole. This will be the hole where the pen ink is going to be inserted through.

Draw two perpendicular diameters. This should divide the circle into four quadrants.

Cut out the circle.

Pickup the circle that was cut out and fold fold along the marked diagonals. First fold it in half to give a semicircle, then also fold the semicircle in half. You should have a 90 degrees sector at this point. 

Open the sector to form a cone.

Pick up the pen and remove its ink. Insert the pen ink into the hole at the tip of the cone as seen in the pictures. Then use glue to make it firm in the hole.

Pickup another cardboard sheet, draw a rectangle of 28cm x 20cm, cut the rectangle out.

Glue the rectangle along the 28cm side to form a cylinder. 

Pickup another cardboard sheet, draw another rectangle of 2cm x 20cm, cut the rectangle out.

Glue the rectangle along the 2cm side to form a ring.

Pickup another cardboard sheet, draw three circles of radii 3cm each. Then cut out the circles and glue the three circles together along their surfaces.

Join the glued circles with the 2cm x 20cm hollow ring formed prior, then glue. This will be used as the pen cap.

Take the cone, cylinder, and pen cap for assembly. The cone (in conjunction with the ink) shall be the tip of the pen while the long cylinder is the body of the pen.

Fit all of them accordingly and glue.

Voila. Your giant pen is now ready!

Grab the pen using your whole hand and then write a giant message with it to some giant friends.

Make sure the message is really big and giant.
