Glowing Spinner Fidget Toy

Hi,

Back again with another spinner toy, this time inspired by Zebrano Wood Craft who created a lovely Glow in the dark spinner toy but again I like to make things as cheap and accessible as possible so in this instructable i am going to show you how to make another cheap and easy spinner toy with the additional bonus of it glows in the dark (because what isn't made better by it being able to glow in the dark?) with the longest part of the project being the time it takes to bake the polymer clay

Lets get started....

Materials

Glow in the dark polymer clay

3x marbles

1 clean and working skate/skate board bearing. This was an old/used one that a local skating shop gave me

A couple of small bits of thick'ish cardboard

Tools

An oven (not pictured)

Baking tray

Tooth pick

Optional

An acrylic sheet for working the polymer clay on. i use a thin cutting mat that i got from a budget shop

Take a piece of your polymer clay and roll it into a long thin snake.

Roll your clay around the circumference of the bearing.

You can flatten it out by rolling the bearing like a wheel and tidy the edges with a tooth pick

take another smaller snake of the polymer clay and wrap it 3 quarters around the marble leaving enough at the ends to attach to the bearing.

You cold wrap it all the way round but i found it made the toy over all a bit more bulky and off balanced.

Use the tooth pick to create a better joint between the bearing and marble.

Repeat for the other two marbles placing them at points to form a triangle.

On your baking tray take your cardboard and cut it into squares small enough to prop up the bearing in the centre.

Ideally you want the marbles to be on the baking tray and the bearing propped up by the cardboard so it doesn't sag.

Bake it up as per instructed by your brand of polymer clay

And you're done!

as you can see from the pictures (unaltered) that it works really well and with there being different colours of glow in the dark polymer clay you can make some pretty cool spinners.
