I uploaded a video tutorial for using glow-in-the-dark powder and epoxy as a project to modify some edc (everyday carry) type items, like paracord lanyard beads, keychain tools, knives, pens, flashlights, pendants, etc.
Glow-in-the-dark powder can be found online from sources like ebay and amazon, as can the epoxy shown in the video. I prefer the Devcon 30 minute type clear epoxy (part #31345). GlowInc.com claims the brightest and longest glow times for their products, and offer different glow powder colors, but the green will be the brightest.
Supplies are: glow powder, epoxy, a bottle cap, a toothpick, and a small sewing needle (I like to use a titanium toothpick) for more detailed work. And you should have a few items you intend to modify close at hand. I usually just mix a small amount of the glow epoxy to work with since actual work time before the mix starts to set up is usually around 15 minutes.
How much powder and epoxy you use is entirely up to you. I usually add a drop from each of the two part epoxy mix dispenser(resin and hardener) inside a bottle cap, then add a small amount of glow powder. You can use less or more powder depending on how much of a 'glow' you want from the mix. I usually just add enough powder so that the mix isn't clumpy after a good stirring, so it is easy to apply but not so 'fluid' that it is runny and dripping. Any mistakes can be cleaned up/removed with the corner/edge of a razor blade, or even using a fingernail/thumbnail can help sometimes.
The epoxy will remain sticky/tacky for several hours after it's been applied to an item, so I set it somewhere flat and out of the way where the mix can settle and dry/cure undisturbed, usually overnight. If the item needs another application of the glow mix, more can be made and applied on top of the previous application, and let dry again. If the item needs glow mix on the other side/sides, they can be done as was the previous side. Take your time, be patient, let the applied mix dry before handling and working on an object further.
