Glove Dispenser

I made a glove dispenser because my mom works at the hospital and needs a way to easily access gloves, without taking more than she needs. Most of the time gloves all come out at once or they are not sanitary because the top of the box is open. With my glove dispenser, you can customize it to your liking and the gloves are easily accessible. I also found a way to make you only grabs as many as you need and in a more sanitary way!

Supplies

  • laser cutter
  • box of gloves
  • paint
  • hot glue
  • clasp
  • scissors
  • laminated paper

First you will need to go onto your computer and go to makercase.com. Once you are there, click the "box model" and set the dimensions to 9in (width), 5in (depth), and 4in (height). Make sure that at the bottom of the screen you click on the "open box" and under "edge joints" click "fingers". At the bottom of the screen click on "download box plans". Make sure to click "disable" on panel labels. Save as an SVG file and you're good to go!

Next go into Glowforge.com and make an account. Once you are there click on "create a new design" at the top left corner. Click "new design" again and you should end up seeing the inside of the printer. In the middle of the page click the + button and upload your SVG file.It should pop up on the screen. Put the wood of your choice into the laser cutter and center it. Now on your computer click enter settings. Based on the thickness of the wood put in your settings. Click Print and wait for your design to finish!

Putting the Pieces Together!

Once your pieces are all printed out, grab the hot glue and glue the pieces together! You should end up with a box without a top. Once your box is dry paint it with a design of your choice! With the laminated paper, cut out a 9x5in piece and glue only half of it down. In the middle of the paper cut an X so that when you pull a glove out, only one comes out. (like a tissue box!) On the half that is not glued down hot glue the clasp to the top of the paper and the part of the box that the paper touches. Now you can add a new box of gloves when the old one runs out.

Final Touches

Once your box is dry and all glued together, you can add any finishing touches you want! Now you can easily grab as many gloves as you want without having to pick up all the ones you dropped! You can take this anywhere and have easily accessible gloves on the go.
