Garden Hose Water Pressure Amplifier
I have always wanted garden hoses to spray further than they already do and using your thumb is just not very accurate.
I am going into the eighth grade at Tuscaloosa academy.
Supplies
- Regular Gardening Hose
- At least 15g of filament
- 3d Printer
- Slicer
Design Part 1
When I began designing the model I could not successfully design a thread that would connect to the hose without issues. So instead I began troubleshooting and modified a model with the correct thread. Then, I had to figure out the diameter of the piece to create the piece the water would spray from. (The diameter ended up being 30mm). Then I made a cone and made the top flat instead of being pointed. After this, I put another cone inside of it so water could get
through.
Design Part 2
After creating the main part of the design I realized that the attachment was a bit tricky to screw onto the hose. So to fix this problem I added these bars around the attachment for a better grip.
Preparing for the Print
When printing I would recommend setting the z seam to random because when I first tried printing this leakage was happening from where the seam was located. Also, remember to set the infill to one hundred percent to prevent leakage. Also, be sure to use the printable overhang feature in your slicer for better results!
Enjoy
This thing can spray far! Have fun!
