Fruit Flan
A simple yet appealing dessert, minus the hassle!
Base Ingredients and Method
You will need:
1 c flour
2 tbsp icing sugar
1/2 c butter/margarine/shortening (butter flavor would be yummier!)
Mix all ingredients with a fork until coarse texture, then form a ball. Let chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Press firmly on bottom and side of a flan/pie pan
Bake at preheated 425 F for 10-12 minutes, let cool in pan.
Cream Ingredients and Method
You will need:
1 box of vanilla pudding and pie filling from Jell-o or other brand
2 c of cold milk
Mix ingredients and whisk until thickened.
Cover top with plastic wrap, touching the surface and let chill in the fridge for 30 minutes (while cooling down the base).
Take out from fridge, whisk again and pour pudding on top of cooled base, evenly.
Fruits and Glace
Any types of fruits you prefer, by all mean, use it!
For this time, I use:
Strawberry, canned mandarin, as needed (drain the juice, reserve a tbsp), canned peaches, as needed (drain the juice), and kiwi
For the glace, I use:
1/2 c apricot jam (or grape/apple jelly, whichever you like best)
1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 tbsp juice from the canned mandarin (you can use all lemon juice, or lemon juice and orange juice).
Decorate top of the pudding with fruit slices as shown.
Heat jam and juices for 1 minutes in microwave, take out, and brush fruit generously.
Chill flan for at least 3 H before serving.
Enjoy :)
