Fried Rice Balls Plate
I decided to push further onto the concept of fried rice which is really common in Asian restaurants. I thought it would be very interesting to create rice balls and fry them as a final product. Additionally, I never really see fruit or vegetables being added to rice dishes, therefore, I thought it would be innovative to add sweet mango to the plate as well as a cool cucumber.

- Eggs (4-5)
- Soy Sauce
- Cucumber (1)
- Flour (1 Bag)
- Italian Breadcrumbs (1 Package)
- Vegetable Oil (4-5 bottles)

Preparing the Rice
Gather the amount of rice you will be using and rinse it in water until the water runs clear. After you have completed rinsing the rice, place it in a pot filled with just enough water to cover the rice, and place the pot on the stove at high heat; add a bit of salt to the water. Once the water on the stove starts boiling, reduce the heat of the stove to 1/4 and wait for about 20 minutes until the water is completely gone.
Cutting the Onion, Carrot, and Filet
While you are waiting for the rice, you can start chopping the carrots, filet, and onions on the cutting board. You can also start cracking two eggs into a bowl. When finished, you must have surpassed the 20 min for the rice for which you place the rice in the freezer so it gets cold.
Wok Mixing
Next, you will work in the Wok and start by pouring your eggs with a little bit of oil in order to make some eggs for the rice. After your egg is finished cooking, remove it from the wok with a spoon and place it in the same bowl used for the cracked eggs. Next pour the carrot, filet, and onion together into the wok and start mixing it with a spoon (pour oil again into the wok to help with the mixing). Once these ingredients are well mixed, you can pour the cold rice into the bowl and mix again. Finally, add the egg back into the rice and add some green peas to the wok (pour soy sauce into the wok to give color and spice to the rice).
Creating the Rice Balls
After the fried rice has properly mixed into the wok bowl, remove it from the bowl with the wooden spoon and place it together in a container. Once your fried rice is all in a container you can start creating as many rice balls as you want.
In order to do this, you need to collect the egg white from three eggs and pour it into the rice while mixing it together (This creates a sticky effect on the fried rice). Afterward, you are able to start making the rice balls for which you will form the balls and place them on a cutting board with some parchment paper on top to prevent making a mess.
Once you have created as many balls as desired, you may gently place them in the fridge for ten minutes. The previous step is necessary so that the rice balls are compressed. However, after the ten minutes are up, bring back the rice balls into the kitchen where you will bathe each ball individually in the following order: flour, egg, and bread crumbs. This will create the outer layer of the rice balls for when they are fried. Once you are done with each ball, be ready to put them back into the fridge and wait another ten minutes.
Frying Process
After the rice balls are out of the fridge, place them near the stove where you will place a big pot and fill it with four bottles of oil. Once the oil has gotten really hot, reduce the temperature of the pot and start adding in the rice balls one by one. You will do this by using the frying spoon and holding the spoon at a level at which the rice balls are submerged in the oil. Once the balls are fried, place them back on the cutting board.
Decoration
The fried rice balls are almost done, now it's time to place them on a plate where you can add mango, cucumber, or your favorite side.
Enjoy!
