Fried Instant Ramen

Flavorful, quick, and an easy alternative to the package directions for ramen noodle soup! Tastes just like fried rice!

What you will need:
- 1 package Ramen noodles in flavor of your choice
- water
- seasame seed oil
- soy sauce
- Add ins according to taste (such as cooked chicken or pork, eggs, steamed veggies, garlic, etc.)

Prepare the Noodles

Select your flavor of Ramen noodle. While still in the sealed package, break the noodles apart into smaller pieces. Prepare the noodles according to package directions OR in a microwave. DO NOT ADD IN FLAVOR PACKET YET.

Microwave method: add just enough water to your microwave safe bowl to float the noodles. Cook on high for 3 minutes, or until soft.

Drain Noodles

Remove excess water from noodles in a strainer, and set aside.

Fry the Noodles

Pour 1 tbs seasame oil into a pan, and heat on medium high. Add drained noodles to pan and begin stirring gently. Continue for 3 to 5 minutes or until noodles begin to become slightly more firm. Stir in 1 to 2 tbsp soy sauce.

It will not harm the quality of your dish if your noodles cook to a slight crunchiness in some places, as add-ins in the next step will typically add some moisture back to the noodle.

Seasoning and Add-Ins

Stir in 1/4 of the flavor packet that we set aside earlier. Move noodles to the side of the pan. In the open section of your pan, add your cooked meat or vegetable (or other add-in). Once the add in is heated incorporate it by gently sitting it into the noodles. I suggest that for each add in, this process.

(After my chicken cooked, I moved the mixture to the side and scrambled my eggs in the open space and incorporated them into the noodles as well.)

Enjoy.

Add a dash of garlic powder and parsley to your noodles (or whatever seasonings you would like, maybe some siracha?) and place in your serving dish. Enjoy!
