Fresh Albacore Al's Tuna Salad. One thing you get when you have a fisherman in the family is plenty of fish. This fine example is Albacore caught off the West coast of So Cal where Tuna is king and the Pacific Ocean is there playground.

Start with about 2- 1/2 pounds of fresh Albacore Tuna and end with a big bowl of Fresh Albacore Al's Tuna Salad. An easy recipe once made may turn you away from canned tuna for life.

The baked fresh Albacore Tuna is excellent to eat at this point so no one would blame you if a couple chunks don't make it to the mixing bowl. When making this I've never had 100% go from oven to mixing bowl so no judgement here brother.

Break Up Tuna in Mixing Bowl

Now that the remaining baked Albacore has made it to the mixing bowl its time to grind up the fish. Wash your hands with medium hot water and soap. The best way to grind up the tuna is with your hand. This way you can feel your way through the product you might just find a bone or other removable piece. You can also use a large fork to accomplish this task. Once completed immediately wash your hands again for good measure and to reinforce good habits.

  • 2 pounds of baked fresh Albacore Tuna
  • 5 to 6 each tablespoons Best Foods Real Mayonnaise
  • 1 each shot glass (1 1/2 ounce) Vlasic Sweet Relish
  • 1 each shot glass (1 1/2 ounce) Wish Bone Italian Dressing
  • 1 each tablespoon Heinz Yellow Mustard
  • 1 each martini glass (4 ounce) diced Red Onions
  • 1 each martini glass (4 ounce) diced Celery
  • 1 each talbespoon chopped fresh Italian Parsley
  • 1 each teaspoon McCormick Pure Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 each teaspoon Morton Kosher Salt

Start with the prepped Albacore Tuna in a large stainless steel mixing bowl. Add 1 each martini glass diced Red Onion and diced Celery. Then 1 each shot glass Vlasic Sweet Relish and Wish Bone Italian Dressing. Continue by adding 5 each tablespoons Best Foods Real Mayonnaise and 1 each tablespoon Heinz Yellow Mustard. Finish with 1 each tablespoon chopped fresh Italian Parsley, 1 each teaspoon McCormick Pure Ground Black Pepper and 1/2 each teaspoon Morton Kosher Salt. With a large serving spoon mix the contents until uniform blended.

Fantastic for salads and sandwiches or with crackers. Not everyone has access to fresh tuna so feel free to use this recipe with canned Solid White Albacore Tuna. This recipes yields about 3 pounds of Fresh Albacore Al's Tuna Salad approximately 8 to 12 servings depending on the portion size.
