"Floating" Tengresity Pencil Holder/School Id Holder

My teacher had been on mauternity leave since the begining of school and a subsitute has been teaching us instead. As she has been back this week, I wanted to make her somthing demonstrating my knowlegde of the unit so far and be somthing functional.

Before I could start print the peices I needed to design the table. I first made a pencil holder with a slot for our schools school ID. I took a cylinder and put a smaller one inside making it hollow. I then designed a tengresity table around it. I threw it on my Anycubic Vyper and it started printing.

I went to bed and when I woke up the pieces were done printing. They turned out great!

Infill: 20% Zigzag

Filament: Hatchbox PLA black.

To assemble the table I needed to cut out parcord string to attach the points. I fisrt cut out a small 1/2 in string and connected it into the slots. I then cut out 3, 2 1/2 in pieces connecting them to the slots on the outside. This works using the concept of tensgresity, holding it all together.

Using a hotglue gun, I put a thin line of glue on the top of the table. This let me be able to fuse the two together. After appling presure to the top the project was done! It was solid and firmly attached to the table.

This project, for the first time, worked on the first try! It holds the pencils and the standard issue school ID. I plan to give this to my teacher next class and I have a feeling she will be impressed.
