"How To" Fix/Restore damaged print or logo.

I used a Puma T-shirt that I really liked, but haven't worn in a while due to the colors of the logo fading.

Supplies

T-shirt or Item of Clothing That Needs Rejuvenating

Fabric Paint in Correct Colors - I used Blue and White

Paintbrushes of Different Sizes

Cardboard - used behind print to prevent bleeding through between layers of material/clothing

Iron

Pressing Cloth

Small Bowl of Water - to Rinse Paintbrushes

Painting the Logo

Paint the darker part of the logo first. Start by painting the smallest parts, and lines, with the smallest paintbrush, and then filling in the rest of the dark part of the logo.

Allow to dry for 6 hours or overnight.

NB: It is better to paint from top to bottom, so as to avoid accidentally smudging lines.

Filling in Lighter Shade

As with the darker shade, fill in smaller parts, and lines, of the logo with the lighter paint, using the smallest paintbrush.

Then paint the larger parts in your lighter shade.

Allow to dry again, for 6 hours or overnight.

NB: After allowing to dry, if required shade has not been achieved, repeat the process until the correct shade or opacity has been reached.

Ironing/Setting the Color

After sufficient time has passed for drying, lay pressing cloth over the painted logo, iron on medium (silk/wool or second heat setting), to set the color.

Ready to Wear
