Finger Tongs

As you can see, I made tongs for your fingers. What would these be used for you may ask? The idea is that these tongs would be used for snacking to prevent your fingers from getting dirty. The tongs are meant to used for any type of snack. Chips that get your fingers dirty, fruits that get your fingers slimy, or any other type of snack. This idea came to me when I was playing games on my laptop and snacking at the same time. I would snack then get the keyboard dirty with the chip residue. I realized I could create something to prevent my keyboard, phone, desk, or anything else from getting dirty. The tongs go in between your fingers and thus preventing from dirtying anything else.

In order to make these tongs, I used:

• A Computer
• A 3D design website
• A 3D Printer

First I needed to create the basic outline of my design. I decided to make the ends triangular and put holes on the actual tong to help with grip. I decided to make the tongs 4 inches long because the average bag of chips wouldn't require longer tongs.

After I finished the blueprint design, I needed to make the model 3D. As you can see in the images above, I simply made the model 3D instead of 2D. Now the model is done, next is to make the place where your fingers will rest in order to actually use the tongs.

After making the model 3D, I needed to make the area where the fingers would be placed. Without these additions to the side of the model, the tongs wouldn't be able to be used as intended. The tongs are supposed to be placed in between your fingers and used as you do other stuff.

The final step is to add areas where the tongs would bend. Without these additions, the tongs would be stiff and difficult to bend, but these additions allow for the tongs to bend inwards easier and more comfortably.

Here is a picture of how the tongs are supposed to be used. You hold the tongs with your fingers and use them to grab stuff. This is used to prevent your hands from getting dirty when eating or picking anything dirty up. This ends my instructables about my design for finger tongs.
