Fibonacci Pie - the Succession of Flavor

Hi, My name is Adrian and I will show you how you can eat maths!!!
More specifically I will guide you in the making of a Fibonacci Succession inspired pie.
The inspiration of this project was maths and nature and due to the fact that this mathematical design is in every natural aspect of life, what better way to make justice than to give a normal pie some reason of existance
Come on guys food that only taste good is boring, let´s make something that even if it taste horrible at least looks cool.
First of All Get the Ingredients!!!
I will be using this ingredients throughout this tutorial:
- 5 cups of wheat flour
- A large bowl
- A roller
- 4 oz of butter or the medium size bar
- 2 eggs
- Half a cup of nuts (Just to decorate)
- 12 oz of sugar
- A little bit of salt
- One table spoon of vanilla extract
- 5 red apples
- Brown sugar (the necesary)
- Another 4 oz of butter
- Cinnamon powder
- Just a little bit of black food colorant.
- Pam in spray
- A large glass container.
I´m Going to Start With the Casing of the Pie.
Put the 5 cups of flour, the first bar of butter (4 oz), one egg, a pinch of salt, the 12 oz of sugar and the table spoon of vanilla extract into the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients until you end up with an even paste.
Two Portions
Divide the paste in two portions: one for the bed of the pie and the other for the details of the pie.
Putting the Paste in the Container
Prepare the glass container using some Pam or baking oil, then place the flattened paste in the mould make sure to cover all the edges.
Making the Succession
Using this reference image and a knife make the marks of the proportions of the succession.
Apple Topping
Prepare the apple filling, start by peeling the skin of the apples and cutting them in slices.
Then in a pan add the apple slices with the brown sugar and the other bar of butter, and cook in medium heat.
When the apples color is brownish then add the cinnamon powder.
Place this apple mix into the squares making sure not to cover the divisions
Making the Fibonacci Sequence
With the other portion of the paste add some black coloring and start making long strips to make the main succession line.
Carefully place the long strip making sure to keep the proportions correctly.
With the other egg cover the paste to fix the stripe in place.
Final Details!
You can also make a info plate of the theory of the Fibonacci succession (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, ...) using the same paste.
Bake everything for about 40 minutes at 450° F Then put all together and enjoy my friend. Thanks for taking your time reading this instructable and I hope you don´t burn the pie.
