Fashion Forward Envelopes

Dressing up those plain white envelopes has never been so trendy, especially with this project inspired by Mark Montana! It was based on his Book Page Lined Envelopes featured in The Big Ass Book of Crafts 2 from the chapter Letter Perfect!

Materials

Here's why you will need to make them:

  • envelopes
  • old magazines
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • glue stick or Mod Podge

Prepare Envelope

First, grab an envelope and lay it flat on top of a magazine page that you want to use with the flap open.

Trace Out Envelope

From there, trace around the top and half of the body of the envelope with your pencil.

Cut Out Liner

From there, you will have what will become the liner for your envelope. At this point, you're now going to cut out the shape, shaving off a 1/4" from the edge.

Glue

Finally, grab a glue stick or Mod Podge and add a layer to the bottom of your liner, and carefully stick it inside the envelope.

Done!

Once everything has dried completely, they're ready to use to mail your letters! I used pages from a few back issues of People Style Watch, but you can use any other old magazine you might have lying around your house!
