Fairy Necklaces
These necklaces are gorgeous , I've made them in many different colours and they always turn out so beautifully. Another great thing about these necklaces is they use lots of beads I found I had that I hadn't used in years. I feel lost most people have had beads at some point so this is a great use for them if you don't have enough for a full necklace of them.
Supplies
Ive labelled all the supplies. You can use whatever beads you wish.
What you need:
Seed beads (at least 3 colours)
Pearl beads
Some type of glass or crystal bead
Heart beads
Flower beads
Pendant
Scissors
Pliers
Bull dog clasp
Beading wire
Soldered shut jump rings
jump rings
lobster clasp
crimp beads
crimp bead covers
Measuring tape
Getting the Wire Ready
Use your measuring tape and cut 22 inches of beading wire.
This easily makes a 18 inch necklace once you've gotten used to closing off the necklaces it could make a 20 inch however its best to start off with 18.
Secure your wire with a bulldog clip.
Start Beading
. Start with seed beads and randomly place your statement (pearls, crystal, flowers etc.) beads throughout.
Pendant
When you reach the half way mark (9 inches) bead your pendant and then continue beading as before.
Beading Finished
When your beading is done it's time to start finishing the necklace. By securing the edges.
Crimp Beads and Jump Rings
Bead crimp rings ( you only need one I used 2 to be secure) and then a soldered shut jump ring.
Thread the wire back through the crimp beads make sure the wires don't cross.
Crimp Beads
Using your pliers apply pressure to the crimp beads they will flatten. (shown in photo above)
Crimp Bead Covers
Place these beads over the crimp beads. Then like the last step apply force so they shut over the crimp bead.
Thread Through
Thread the excess wire back through the beads feel free to trim it also.
It should look like the second photo.
Other Side
Repeat on the other side however this time you will need to open a jump ring and thread a lobsterclap.
Then secure it onto the soldered shut jump ring with pliers.
The lobster clasp will open and close the necklace.
Done!
The second photo is under direct sunlight and these look stunning. I really recommend.
