Want to look for a fun and colorful gift idea? Look no further than these fabric lined towels! These fashionable towels are equal parts stylish and functional, and add color to any space, be it the bathroom or the kitchen! All you have to do is choose your fabrics!

Materials

These are the materials you will need to make these gorgeous towels:

  • small dish towels (I bought these sets of 2 towels from the Dollar Store, about $2 per set)
  • fabric
  • scissors
  • straight pins
  • sewing machine
  • matching thread
  • pencil
  • ruler

Prep Fabric

First, measure one side of the fabric on one of the ends of the towel. I strongly suggest that you use a pencil and ruler to measure from one angle. About 2 to 4 inches is ideal.

Cut Fabric

Then, cut that strip of fabric to the size as indicated. From there, fold this piece of fabric in half, down the middle to make a crease. Then, cut along that crease so you will end up with two smaller strips. The ideal thickness is about 1 to 2 inches.

Sew on Fabric

Then, place one of the fabric strips on top of the towel, and sew around the strip. I suggest using a matching thread or a colored thread that will blend in within the color of the fabric. Here, I'm using a yellow strip of fabric, so I'm using white thread, to make it blend within the light color.

Complete

Then, once you cut off any excess thread, you should be able to get something like this. Then, complete the towel by following the same steps on the other end of the towel.

Colorful Towels!
