F-18 Super Hornet Out of Popsicle Sticks

My name is Micah I'm 14 years of age and home schooled. This is a F-18 Super Hornet made with Popsicle sticks. This is a great thing to put on display, show off to your friends, or add to your collection if you have one.

First step is to cut out the main fuselage from the template(pic.1,2). Trace that template onto the popsicle stick and cut out two of them and glue them together(pic.3,4)(Keep in mind I'm making two planes so that's why you'll see extra parts). Cut out the outlined section in picture 5 from the fuselage template, cut out four from a popsicle stick, and glue two on each side of the plane(pic.6,7). Next, round out the nose, canopy, and the back of the fuselage(pic.8,9,10). Then take sand paper or a triangular file, make a notch in the center of the back(pic.11), and use the template to round out the back(pic.12). Picture 13 has the last pieces to cut out and glue on. You're going to want to sand it down to a point on both ends and leave a peak in the middle(pic.14). Then glue them on the top of the air intakes(pic.15,16).

(Optional) Before you glue the wings and vertical stabilizers on make small cuts in them for the flaps, ailerons, and rudders(pic.11,12). Unfortunately I forgot about this step so I had to try my best to make the cuts with the wings already glued on and painted. Cut out the wing template, trace it on the popsicle stick, cut out two, and sand them to an airfoil shape(pic.1,2). Glue them on about a millimeter from the back edge of the the last piece we made in the first step(pic.3)(I don't know what it's called). Next pieces to cut out are the vertical stabilizers(pic.4). Sand those down into the same airfoil shape as the wings and glue them on about 2 millimeters from the trailing edge of the wing (I don't know the exact measurements I just based it off the template) with the correct angle according to the template(pic.5,6). Once everything is in place make a mixture of wood glue and saw dust to fill in the gaps(pic.7,8). Last pieces to cut out and glue on are the horizontal stabilizers(pic.9,10). About 2 mm from the back.

Trace out the canopy with a pencil(pic.1), paint it black, and the rest of the plane grey(pic.2) and then you're done!! If you want to make a stand go check out my F-22 Raptor instructable. Let me know down below if you make it:)
