Total ingredients needed
- 250 g Butter
- 150 g Sugar
- 4 g Vanilla sugar
- 4x Eggs
- 250 g All-purpose flour
- 7,5 g Baking powder
- 45 g Milk
- 25 g Cocoa powder – Unsweetened
Baking Tools needed
You will need a handy mixer, 2 bowls and a loaf pan of 23 x 10 cm.
Mix Dough
Ingredients:
- 250 g Butter
- 150 g Sugar
- 4 g Vanilla sugar
- 4x Eggs
- 250 g All-purpose flour
- 7,5 g Baking powder
Steps:
- In a bowl mix soft butter, sugar and vanilla sugar with a mixer until fluffy
- Add the eggs, one at a time and mix further till everything is well combined
- Sift in the all-purpose flour and baking powder and mix until you get a creamy consistency
Mix Cocoa Dough
- ~450 g Dough mix #1
- 45 g Milk 25 g Cocoa powder – Unsweetened
- Seperate about 450 g of the previous mixed dough in a second bowl
- Add the milk and cocoa powder and mix until well combined
Coat Loaf Pan
- Grease the loaf pan with butter on bottom and all sides
- Fill the loaf pan by alternating between the normal and cocoa dough
- One layer of the normal dough, one layer of the cocoa dough, again one layer of the normal dough and so on
Bake
- Preheat oven to 170°C (338°F) with the upper and lower heat function
- Put the loaf pan in the oven on the middle rack and bake for 1 hour
- After 20 minutes cut in the cake from left to right in the center (about 3 cm deep)
- After baking take your finished extra moist marble cake out immediately, but keep it in the loaf pan
- Tip: Check if the cake is ready by sticking a skewer in the middle until you reach the bottom and pull it out again. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If not, bake for 5 more minutes and check again.
Cool
- Let the marble cake cool in the loaf pan for about 30 minutes
- Afterwards transfer it to a cooling rack to cool the rest

This is a really juicy cake with a nice hint of chocolate in it. It is not too sweet like some of the cakes with a lot of whipped cream. Just add a cup of coffee or tea to it and enjoy your cosy Sunday afternoon.
