Embroidered Lace Earrings With Beads
These gorgeous earrings are very easy to make. All you need is some filigree lace with flower pattern (or any pattern you like), leather scraps, and beads.
Let's go!
Supplies
Lace, leather scraps, thread, beads, earring hooks, earring top clamps, fabric glue, scissors, needle, pliers, hand sewing skills
Cut Out the Lace
Depending on your lace pattern cut out the flowers. In my case, I had a beautiful red lace with roses. I cut out the roses as shown in the picture with a dotted black line. I was lucky to have the lace with a mirrored pattern, meaning that I had left and right roses.
Sew on Your Beads
Now that you have your lace flowers, take thread and needle and sew on your desired beads. As I had red lace roses, I chose red beads. But you can let your creativity fly and use different color beads.
I suggest not covering the whole lace with beads as it could look very heavy. Here I embroidered only the perimeter of the rose petals.
This step is the most time-consuming, but it is also therapeutic and meditative.
Glue the Lace on the Leather
Now that you have your bead-embroidered lace flowers you can glue them on the leather using fabric glue. Let it dry completely and cut out your desired shape of the earring. I cut a teardrop shape out of paper and then transferred it to the leather taking into account where the lace rose is.
Add Earring Clamps and Hooks
Using pliers add the earring end clamps and earring hooks. I love to use already decorated earring hooks. They add a little more character to the earrings.
Alternatively: you can use jump rings to connect the leather with the earring hook.
Your Bead-embroidered Earrings Are Ready!
Check one more time if all the lace is glued down and voila! Your bead-embroidered lace earrings are ready!
Enjoy!
