Edit Your Instructables Pictures in Just 10 Sec
If you´ve been in one of these situations you´ll love this app:
-You finish an awesome project and are about to upload the photos to your Instructable, but you notice a stain, an unwanted object in the back, or something else that bugs you.
-You take the perfect picture of your trip, but there´s lots of unwanted people at the back.
-You finally capture you baby´s smile, but at the back wall there are some abstract paintings his big brother made. You wish those weren´t there, at least for that photo.
-You like to photograph everything with your telephone, and you like apps that are light so you can have room for more photos.
-You think Photoshop is a good software, but for the light use you need, you don´t want to spend 20dlls a month for it.
-You want to make your Facebook or Instagram account even more beautiful.
Download the App
You´ll happily pay a couple of dollars for this app TouchRetouch from ADVA Soft. It has so many advantages:
- Affordable
- It will only take 22.4 MB !!!!!!
- Its available in many languages (English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Ukranian)
- You can publish your photos to your favorite social network directly from the app
- It´s fast
- It´ll change the way you take pictures, you won´t worry anymore if something is spoiling your photo. You´ll know you can fix it quickly.
You can download it from the App Store or from Google Play.
Open Your Photo
Click in the green circle at the middle (as you can see my app is in Spanish). And it will take you to your albums.
Now my goal is to erase all the people at the back.
Remove With Just a Tap
Select object removal and mark the object you want to remove.
As you see in the first photo, the app marks the unwanted object in green, then tap "go" and the intruder is gone. You can do this faster with the "quick repair" button.
Repeat. You can zoom in or out to make your selecction more accurate. You can use other tools to mark the object with more detail, like lasso.
If it looks unnatural, you can easily go back, just tap the arrows at the top.
In some zones you´ll need to repeat this step several times to fully eliminate the unwanted object.
For Objects Around You
Now see in the first two pictures what happens when I try to repeat last step with the people around us.
What you can do here is to tap the other tool named Clone Stamp. It is one of the most used tools in Photoshop. If you don´t know how to use it, just test it a couple of times and you´ll be an expert.
It will copy part of the photo in a different place.
First you have to select what part of your picture you want to clone. You will se a white circle around the area that is going to be cloned.
Then select the objects you want to remove. And as you can se in the third image, it was kind of blurry around the head, so I had to adjust the hardness of the clone stamp. You can adjust the opacity, size and hardness.
Save the New Photo
Finally tap the icon at the top right, you´ll be able to choose where you want your picture (your photo album, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Email, Clipboard), and what size.
There´s another helpful tool in the app to instantly erase lines (like power lines).
Now give it a try, you´ll be surprised at how helpful and fun it is. In the picture I used as an example, it took me less than 3 minutes to erase all photobombers.
Use This App With Your Instructable Photos
Now this is an example of how I use this app with my photos for Instructables. I don´t have a white backdrop big enough so, I ended up editing all of my photos for my "$5 Polygonal Globe". But it was ok, because it took me less than 10 seconds to edit each photo. I love the convenience of taking the pictures with my phone and with a couple of taps it´s perfect to be uploaded. By the way did you know you can actually publish instructables directly from your cellphone? This site is amazing!
