Easy Shepard's Pie
This is a quick, easy and pretty healthy dinner you can make for your family. It is hearty and comforting especially on a winter night.
For this dish, you need:
Ingredients:
- 5 potatoes
- 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 pkg of frozen vegetable (whatever you like corn, green beans, peas and carrots, onions)
- 2 lb of ground beef or turkey
- 2 pkg of gravy mix
- 2 cups of water
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- shredded cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper
Supplies
- rectangle baking pan 13 inch x10 inch (or 2 cake pans or two old pie tins)
- fry pan
- pot large enough to boil 5 potatoes
- whisk or potato smasher or fork
Wash and Dice 5 Potatoes.
You can peel or not peel the potatoes depending on your preference. Since you going to smash them later, you just want to cut the potatoes in pieces so they cook faster.
Boil the Potatoes for 15 Minutes.
Boil the diced potatoes for 15 min and drain the water.
Put the Potatoes Back in the Pot. Add Butter, Milk, Salt and Pepper. SMASH!
Dice a Large Onion.
Saute Onion, Ground Meat, Garlic, a Bit of Salt and Pepper. Cook Meat Completely.
Don't salt to much because you will be mixing this with gravy.
Add 2 Gravy Packets and 2 Cups of Water. Mix in With Meat.
You may want to taste the meat to season to your taste.
