In this project I describe how I built a easy middle finding tool. I got inspired to built this project because I saw something similar in a video.

You can built this project in around 10 minutes and it is a very helpful simple tool.

Supplies

You do not need much but here is everything you need.

Hardware:

  • Some Wood that is not to thick ( 20x20 cm is enough)
  • Some small Screws

Tools:

  • A drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Saw

Cutting Out the Pieces

The first step is to cut out all the pieces. You can take a look at my easy plan and cut the pieces out. This is the first step also if it is not much to do.

Here is the Plan. The pieces are marked with letters from A to C. Pieces with the same letter are the same pieces.

Drilling Holes for the Screws

Now with all the pieces cut out we can begin to drill holes at the places I marked on the picture. I cut out 3 different sizes of holes.

Screw It Together

The last step is to screw everything together. I marked where the screws are located on the picture. The screws have to be shorter than two times the thickness of your wood. But screw only the pieces A and B on my plan together like in the picture.

Adding the Last Piece

Now you measure where the middle between the to pieces (A {So the pieces that are at the bottom}). Then you drill small holes for the screws on both pieces and you screw the screws in :).

How to Use It

Now you are finished.

But how do you use the "middelfindingtool" ? It is quite easy. If you now place a piece of wood in the middle you clamp it together and put a pencil trough the hole in the middle. Now you know were the middle is.

I hope you had fun building this small project wich is very useful I think.
