Easy Mickey Mouse Wizard Inspired Costume for Children

This instructible will detail an easy and simple method to make your child a mickey mouse inspired wizard outfit. This costume only takes about 30 mins to prepare excluding the time it takes to print the wand which can take anywhere from 3-10 hours to print. I used fusion 360 to create the model for the wand

For this costume, you will need:

1 Piece of Printer Paper,

Access to a Color Printer,

Access to a PLA 3d printer,

Access to a 3d slicing software,

3d printer filament (you can choose the colors depending on what you/your child wants),

Super glue (Or similar products),

Scissors,

Tape (Clear or double sided),

Yarn.

You will want to prepare your printer with your chosen color, and load the attached file into your slicer, making sure to have the 3 pieces separated and supports generated as needed. I recommend printing with all parts standing straight, however due to size constraints you can use supports to fit all parts at angles as needed.

*Please note that if you have to print the wand at an angle it will take a substantial amount of time that will need to be accounted for (upwards of 10 hours) whereas printing with the faces on the print bed will only take ~3 hours

Take your parts off of the print plate and remove supports as necessary,

Then, add some superglue into and around the openings on the two pieces of the wand,

Then place the small cylinder into the opening of each, and make sure each of the ends touch each other,

Once you let the glue settle, you may have to clean the area around the seam, but you should be done!

For the hat, you will need printer paper and access to a printer.

First off, if you are using a printer, print the attached design onto your piece of printer paper,

You will then cut out the unwrapped cone using scissors,

Take the edge with no design, and wrap it around and tape it/ glue it under the other side to make a cone shape,

Let the glue set,

You are done with the wizard hat!

To keep the hat attached to you or your child's head, you will need to add a small strap to the hat.

Using your scissors (Or anything else able to poke a hole in paper) make two holes through the brim of your wizard hat 180 degrees apart (Or behind the ears),

Thread the two ends of your yarn through the holes, and measure it out to fit under you or your child's chin and be fairly tight (but not to tight to be uncomfortable) and then tie the ends of the yarn so that they don't slip back out of the holes of the hat.

You're done with the strap!
