Easy Homemade Peanut Butter
In this Instructable, I will show you how to make peanut butter. This homemade peanut butter recipe is so very easy to make using pretty much only peanuts. Of course, you can add a bit of sweeteners like honey or sugar, which I normally do, and a bit of salt. But it is nice to know you have complete control over the salt and sweetness. It is so fun to make and only takes about 5 minutes total! Not including the time to clean your food processor of course. If I can do it, you can do it! Let's get started!

Follow the easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both. :)

If you like, you can print the recipe here.

Grind Those Peanuts
This whole process only takes about 5 minutes which is pretty awesome. Begin by placing your dry roasted peanuts in the food processor. If you only have normal peanuts you can lay them out flat on a sheet pan and bake them at 325 F/162 C for about 20 minutes. Put the lid on and turn on the food processor. After about 20 to 30 seconds, take a look. It should resemble coarse sand at this point. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and dislodge any large chunks of peanuts from the lid.
Mix, and Flavor
Replace the lid and mix some more until it turns into peanut butter. It won't take long. At this point add in the salt and honey or sugar. Or leave it out. :) If you would like it extra smooth you can add in a bit of peanut oil as well. Replace the lid and mix for another 20 to 30 seconds and then you will be done.
Store That Homemade Peanut Butter
I usually place the peanut butter in a mason jar. This recipe makes around 1 and 1/4 cup worth of peanut butter. Store it in the fridge covered or if you are going to eat it all within a few days you can store it at room temperature, covered. It is so yummy and easy to make! :) Enjoy!
