Easy Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter From Old Plastic Bottle
Cookie cutters are incredibly handy, but what if they could be made out of something you would otherwise throw out? This project will do just that. It will explain in well documented steps how to create your own heart shaped cookie cutter out of an old plastic bottle!
Supplies
Physical Materials:
Old Plastic Bottle
Food Safe Super Glue
Tools:
Red Marker (Make sure it is made to draw to plastic)
Designing in Fusion 360
Designing the project is always an incredible important step. No matter the complexity, designing the final product is always vital. For this project, I designed the cookie cutter in Fusion 360. I created the solid heart shape, and then cut a smaller heart out of it to achieve the desired shape. I now knew what shape I was trying to create out of the water bottle.
Cutting
Cut a strip of plastic from the plastic bottle. the width of the strip should be approximately 1 inch. the length of the strip determines how big your cookie cutter will be.
Folding
Fold your strip of plastic in half as shown above. This fold will be the point of the heart at the bottom.
Glueing
Glue together both ends of the plastic strip together as shown above. Your cookie cutter should now be in the shape of a heart.
Coloring
Color the cookie cutter with markers. Make sure that these markers are designed to draw on plastic so they do not rub off! Be sure to get an even coat for the best finish.
Final Product
You finished! Have fun baking heart shaped cookies with this eco friendly alternative to standard cookie cutters. Have Fun!
