Easy, Delicious DIY Dog Biscuits

IMG_0545.JPG

This is an easy recipe for dog biscuits that has been both dog tested and approved. They are the perfect combination of meaty and peanut-buttery. Also, it's super easy, and the perfect gift for that special dog in your life.

Ingredients

This is a very easy recipe, which doesn't need many ingredients. However, you will need:

  • 1 cup of flour, plus more for rolling
  • 1/3 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp. canola oil
  • 2 eggs(with separate uses)
  • 1/8 cup milk(low or fat free)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup broth (chicken, beef, or whatever else your dog likes)

As far as tools go, you will need:

  • An oven
  • A rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters(sort of optional)

Make the Batter

Before you make the batter, you will need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. After that is out of the way, whisk together the flour and cornmeal. Then add the oil, broth, egg, and milk, and then mix until combined. Lastly, add the peanut butter if desired, and make sure it's mixed in.

Prepare the Cookies

After you've made the batter, roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Then you can cut into shapes with cookie cutters. I recommend bone shapes, but you can use whatever you'd like. Then gather the remaining dough, roll it out, and cut shapes out again. Keep repeating until there's no dough left.

Bake

Before you bake, beat the other egg to make an egg wash. Brush this on the cookies before you bake. After that's done, bake them for 30 minutes or until golden brown. This recipe makes about 24 dog biscuits, depending on the size of the cutter.

Enjoy!
