Easy Bench Cookie Storage

After making our own bench cookies we decided we needed an organization method so they don't end up scattered all over the place (well, we all know they still will be scattered because I never put stuff away). This instructable couldn't be much easier, as it's basically just a 4 inch inner diameter pvc pipe with very little modification.

Supplies

Drill Bottom Block

You can drill this block out of any scrap wood you have around, but we decided to use the remnants from our bench cookie project, which allowed us to cut a block that facilitates access to the PVC pipe. We used the same 4 inch hole saw bit which will fit perfectly inside the PVC.

Pre-drill a hole through the sides of the PVC directly into the block and find some random screws to mount the block.

Cut Out the Opening

Using our miter saw, a stop block, and our Dremel Multi-tool, we cut out a roughly 2 inch slot in the PVC pipe, just above the bottom block, using a stop block to ensure we don't cut all the way through the PVC.

Chop Off Top

We cut a 30 degree angle off the top using the miter saw for easier access to drop the cookies in. We had to use the multi-tool to finish it off.

Mount to a Board

We had a scrap piece of 1x6 that we mounted the unit to, using 3/4 inch wood screws, after countersinking the heads so they are out of the way of the cookies.

Mount Anywhere You Want

That's is, figured if I pre-mounted it to a board I could move it wherever I wanted without having to get a drill into the open slot every time.
