Easiest Holiday Wreath

Wreaths are wonderful decorations adorning your doors and sprucing up your windows. This Instructable is a new take on an old holiday favorite that can also reduce the pine needle mess around your household this holiday season. So break out those holiday ornaments that didn't make the cut for the tree this year and make a festive and colorful wreath!

Gather the following to make your wreath:

• Holiday Ornaments (I used 42)
• Wire Hanger
• Super Glue or glue gun
• Festive Ribbon (Optional)

First things first, let's shape your hanger. Keeping the ends wrapped together, use your hands to reshape the body of the wire hanger to a large circle. Your hanger doesn't have to be a perfect circle as the ornaments will hang loosely off of it and naturally take a circular form. You do however, want to shape it as close to a circle as you can get it.

Using your fingers unwrap the top of your hanger so that you can easily slide your ornaments on to your wreath.

Gently pry the top of the ornament off using your fingers. Place a thin layer of glue around the tip of the ornament and replace the top. This will keep the ornaments secure since they have a tendency to fall off or come loose. Allow your ornaments to dry for at least a minute so that the glue firmly sets. Repeat for all of your ornaments.

This step is especially critical for those of you using glass ornaments. You'll want to make sure your ornaments are secure to prevent the ball from falling and shattering.

Gently work each of your ornaments on to your hanger. Depending on the size of the hook hole on the ornament, you may have to spin the ornament to get it around the remaining coils at the top of the hanger. Be patient, they will slide on. If you like, alternate colors so that your wreath has a varied look.

Once you have placed all of your ornaments and you are happy with their orientation close the hanger by rewrapping the wires together. Hang your wreath on a picture hook or on a door knob to see if you are happy with the arrangement.

I used a total of 42 ornaments, most big, but some small for variation. I still had some space left over on my hanger, and liked having the extra room to make the hanger easier to close and have the hook sit closer to the door. If you have more ornaments lying about and would like to, add them and fill the space!

If you were happy with the arrangement, wrap the top of your hanger with ribbon to give it a festive look. Add a bow if you'd like to continue decorating it.

Then you're done! Hang your wreath where you and others can enjoy it this holiday season.
