Duct Tape Wallet

The best wallet Ive used is a Duct Tape Wallet.

Mainly because Ive made it, and because it works like it should.

Its not leather, its waterproof, which is important when cycling and it starts raining.

the roll of Duct Tape I used cost 8.90.

I used about a 1/3 of that and could have been more efficient if i tried.

therefore, this wallet is worth roughly 3 Euro.

Heres how I did it.

Materials;

Duct Tape

the first thing to do is overlap some tape strips and mark out how big a card is against it.

I made two of these card holders, one for each side to keep it even.

Using some other overlapped tape, create a backing for the card holder.

I ended up with two similar look card sleeves.

Trim the two sleeves so that they are equal.

after this step they will need to be attached to form the inner part of the wallet.

So that the wallet will close on its own weight, the card holders need a hinge.

If they are taped together and then folded, the wallet will need to be forced closedor else it will sit slightly open.

Therefore,

lay the card holders facing one another and tape the outside of them.

After this, tape the inner part.

This will allow it to be opened but still close properly.

This inner part of the wallet will also be half the compartment for notes.

This is the easier part.

Just keep laying tape on each other until it is suitably thick enough.

I wrapped tape long and cross ways.

Measure against the first part of the wallet and cut to size.

Cut in Half.

This is the same process as before.

Place each half on each half of the closed wallet.

Tape the halves together making the outer hinge.

When thats done. put a strip of tape down the inside spine.

To keep it closing nicely, cut a V between the outer and inner wallet at the bottom of the hinges.

This allows slight separation of the cash part.

Put some cards and money in and off you go.

Done.
