Duct Tape Spinner Fidget Toy
Hi,
Spinner toys are nothing new and have been covered by other great instructablers such as Kenyer and akn1, but most of the how to's use hot glue which is nice and easy but tend to break easily or a 3d printer which not everyone has access to. I wanted to make a hand spinner that anyone could make, So in this instructable I'm going to show you how to make one using duct tape. its a lot more robust than hot glue and with there being a multitude of different colours of duct tape available you can make them nice and bright.
Its a cheap and easy instructable with most of the parts easy to come by
Lets get started...
What You'll Need
Materials
3 marbles
1 clean skate or skateboard bearing. I got this one from a local skate shop it was old but still span.
Duct tape
Tools
Craft knife
Cutting mat
Ruler
Cutting the Tape
Lightly place a length of duct tape roughly 3 inches long on your cutting mat, you dont want it to stick to it too much
Using your bearing to measure the width of the strip use your craft knife and ruller to cut a thin strip roughly the same width as the bearing.
Repeat this to make at least 6 strips.
Attaching the Marbles
This part can be a bit tricky.
Take a strip of duct tape and place the marble in the center so there are to lengths at eather side
Attache these two lengths to the bearing.
Take another strip of ductape and wrap it around the bottom of the marble.
Repeat this for the other two marbles.
You want to position the marbles to form a triangle around the bearing.
You may want to and an extra strip of duct tape around the whole fidget toy
Finished
and you're done!
I hope you enjoyed this instructable and as always thoughts/comments/criticisms and even pictures of your own Spinner Fidget Toys are welcome in the comments below :)
