Drill Powered Caulk Gun
I have no explanation why a powered caulk gun should be this expensive, I also have no explanation why you would need many powered devices independently, why not use a simple attachment?
So let's make a DIY drill-powered caulking gun.
Supplies
For this project you will need the following materials:
- Long M8 threaded rod
- Two few M8 Nuts
- Some metal wire
- A ball bearing(optional)
- A cheap manual caulk gun
- Cordless drill
Threaded Rod
I started by cutting the threaded rod about the same length as the caulk gun pushing rod. Then ground the head to make it fit into the ballbearing. Now the ballbearing here is optional and it just makes the operation smoother so if you don't have one just make the tip of rod stays between two plates and the rod spins freely.
Disassembling and Adding the New Parts
Then I started to disassemble the caulk gun and removed the handle because we won't be needing it anymore. I traped one of our M8 nuts between a washer and caulk gun body and wrapped them with some wire. I used wire because I didn't want to make this project complicated with welding which wasn't necessary.
Final Assembly
So here is how our drill-powered caulk gunlook after the assembly.
In Action
So after the assembly, I fired up the gun, and boy it was well controlled and powerful. For less than 5$ I couldn't ask for more. Make sure to check out the video to see it in action.
