Dog Belt (Paracord 550)
For this Project, you will need...
- (1) Pair of Heavy Duty Scissors (You can use different scissors, but paracord is hard to cut with little kid scissors, so I would recommend not using kid scissors.)
- (1) A Belt Buckle
- (1) A Lighter (I like to use the BIC Pocket Lighters, but you can use the Long Nose Lighters. Those would be a bit safer than the Pocket Lighters)
- (2) 2.5 ft. of Paracord = 1 ft. your Dog's Neck (This is for the camo colored paracord and for the tan paracord, not mentioned in the photo)
- (1) 1 ft. of Paracord = 1 ft. your Dog's Neck (This is for the other tan colored paracord)
Attaching the Paracord on the Belt Buckle
You first want to make a U-loop and wrap it on the prong. Then slide both ends of the paracord below the belt and into the hole, but put one side of the paracord on one side of the prong, and the other side of the paracord on the other side, or else you will have major problems. Next, your going to do the same thing, except, you need to put them between the prong and the paracord, then pull hard.
Process 1
So now, you will want to attach the smaller piece of the tan paracord and slide it through the middle of all the paracord. Next, you will want to do a cobra knot (which I have shown on the 2nd and 3rd photo). You keep on doing the cobra knot until you make it to the end. You then will want to cut the excess and then burn the ends so the string inside don't try to come out.
Process 2
Since you want to make your dog collar big, so if your dog was to try to gnaw it's way through the collar, it would be hard for it to. You will need the bigger tan paracord, that wasn't mentioned in the photo, and you will be doing another cobra knot, except on top of the original one. Now you want to cut the excess, burn the ends, and now your done with your amazing paracord project. I did this project with military colors because I think they look cool, but you can make one with other colors. Just use your own imagination.
