Delicious Sweet Chapati of Pumpkin.

Making sweet chapati of pumpkin.

We need pumpkin, jaggery & wheat floor. Grate pumpkin & jaggery. Cook grated pumpkin, then add grated jaggery to it. Cool down this mixture. Add wheat floor to this mixture to make a dough. Make small balls of dough. Make chapatis out of these balls using rolling Pad & rolling Pin. Roast these chapatis to get delicious sweet chapati of pumpkin.

Material

1. Pumpkin 500 grams

2. Jaggery 250 gram

3. Wheat Flour


Utensils & Equipment

1. Cooking gas & lighter

2. Grater

3. Griddle

4. Polpat & Latane (Rolling Pad & Rolling Pin)

5. Ulathane (spatula)

6. Mixing pot

7. Cutting Knife

Take 500 gram pumpkin. Wash it thoroughly. Remove seeds.

Pumpkin seeds are also nutritious. (These seed can be eaten by removing their cover.)

Cut the pumpkin into smaller pieces. Make sure the size should be enough to hold it in one hand for grating.

Pumpkin skin can be further cut & can be use in composting ( recycling of wet waste )

Grate these pieces as shown above.

This is finely grated pumpkin. Looks yellowish.

Take around 250 gm of Jaggery. Grate it. It should be as shown in the above photograph.

Cook grated pumpkin on small cooking gas burner using thick bottom utensil. Cover this utensil with lid so that grated pumpkin will cook fast.

You could see change in color & also water coming out of gated pumpkin.

This is the properly cooked pumpkin.

Continue cooking & start adding grated jaggery to cooked pumpkin. Slowly the color will start becoming darker. Mix the material properly. Make sure all jaggery is melted & mixed properly with pumpkin. Let this mixture cool down.

Start kniding the dough by adding wheat flour in small quantities.
The proportion of the pumpkin-jaggery mixture to wheat flour should be 3:4 by volume. (example - If your pumpkin-jaggery mixture is 3 cups, your should add 4 cups of wheat flour.)
This is the dough of pumpkin-jaggery & wheat flour. Apply some groundnut (or any edible) oil to make proper dough.
This dough should be such that one should able to roll it on rolling pad. If dough is sticking to rolling pad apply some wheat flour on rolling pad.

Using polpat & latne (rolling board & rolling pin) roll the balls into Chapatis as shown above.

Roast these chapatis on griddle from both the sides.

Sweet chapati of pumpkin is ready to serve. Serve it as breakfast. Either use ghee (Clarified Butter) or consume as it is.
