DIY Zero COST Fertilizer Using Potato Peels
GO NATURAL, BE HEALTHY
Hi guys, welcome back to my another instructable. Ok ,your first question would be on the heading of the instructable. It sounds a bit different right .Well, each and every house in this world has atleast a plant .This fertilizer can be made easily with available materials at your home. This fertilizer which is made from potato peels is a source of NPK which are needed for your plant. So lets get started.
Supplies
For making this fertilizer, you will need:
A jar with a lid
Potato scraps or potato peels
Jaggery
Water (amount required to fill the jar)
Don't Throw Them, Drop Them
Yeah don't throw the peels, drop them in the jar filled with 3/4 amount of water. Before adding the peels, remove the buds from the peels.
TIP : Not only potato peels, you can add any vegetable leftovers.
Feed Them
What? There is no one inside the jar and whom to feed .There are some invisible friends- the microbes .These are very helpful in our project. They help in fermentation. To feed them, add a tbsp of jaggery to the mixture of potato peels and water close the jar with a lid and shake the jar well. Now your fertilizer is ready.
Don't Leave Me Alone, Come Again
Haha what a crazy step. I meant don't leave the fertilizer as it is. You know that every organism respires. Even these organisms leave the air out after respiration. Am I right? After 2 or three days, release the air from the jar by slightly unscrewing the lid .While doing this you can hear a sound. Again secure the lid tightly .Repeat this process for about a month or 2 weeks and then you can use them for your plants.
NOTE : THE LONGER THE TIME LEFT, THE MORE NUTRITIVE THE SOLUTION WOULD BE
Directions for Use
This fertilizer would be concentrated right after the preparation. Before use, dilute this solution. If you are gonna use 1 cup of fertilizer, dilute it with 1 gallon of water .I have took a bowl full of diluted solution to show you the colour of the solution .
And remember, do not add this fertilizer regularly. Use this fertilizer once or twice in a month.
THE ABOVE PIC WAS TAKEN AFTER LETTING IT TO FERMENT FOR ABOUT A MONTH
I hope this instructable might be useful to you. See you next time in my another instructable. Till then,
