*OLD FLASHLIGHT(HEAD MOUNTED)

*TIN CAN

*USB CABLE

*NUT AND SCREW

*SOLDERING EQUIPMENT

*DRILLING MACHINE(OPTIONAL)

*INSULATIONTAPE

*RESISTOR-10ohm(OPTIONAL)

CUT THE USB CABLE

cut the USB cable near to the small end.You will see four wires like,RED,GREEN,BLACK,WHITE.

*Tape the white and green wires because they are data cables.

*strip the remaining red and black wires(power cables)

*Red wire - positive terminal(+)

*Black wire-Negative terminal(-)

DISASSEMBLE THE FLASHLIGHT

*Unscrew all the nuts in the case of the flashlight

*care fully remove the old battery.

*Plug the USB cable into laptop USB port or USB charger port.

*Make contact between power cables of the USB and the battery terminal wire of the flashlight in correct polarity.

*If the light works our job becomes very easy.

*If not , check the LED for working with multi meter or using two 1.5 V batteries in series with LED.

IF you are going to use multi meter then set the meter in diode checking position and touch the solder beads of the LED with the probes of the multi meter.

* If the LED is in good condition it will emit small amount of light.

*If the LED don't work replace the LED with a new one

*If the LED is in good condition then the problem is in board

*Remove the damaged board and use 10 ohm 1.5 W resistor in series with the LED light. It will definitely work.

DRILL THE HOLES

*I am going to fix the flashlight case in the side of the tin can

* I drill the holes in the case of the flashlight and the side of the tin can

*I also drill holes in the lid of the tin can for use it as pen stand.

* If you don't have a drilling machine try to make holes with steel nail and hammer.

FIT THEM TOGETHER

*This is the final process to make USB light.

*insert the screw through the holes in the case of the flashlight and tin can,

*fastens the screw with a nut securely.

*If it is not balanced correctly put some small pebbles into the tin can.

CHECK AND USE IT

* plug the USB cable into USB port and check it.
