Look forward to Spring! The following design, made from recuperated untreated pallet and fruit crate wood, gives the blue tits a des res and hopefully the impetus to help keep your fruits and vegetables pest free. It also makes a much appreciated present for Christmas, Birthdays and other festive occasions. This design can also be made with a round hole entrance but I made it this way to obviate the need for a drill. I have made one with the required size hole for a birthday present and the blue tits, who eventually raised a family in it, actually enlarged the hole by pecking out the wood! This design is adaptable to other bird species and I will be posting other boxes soon.
