DIY Medium Level Lego Puzzle Box
Welcome to this instructable. I will teach you how to make a fun LEGO puzzle box. It takes 5 minutes to build and 1 minute to solve.
My friend also made a Lego puzzle box for this contest, and he inspired me to make my own version.
Specially for this instructable, I made a stop-motion animation showing how to make the puzzle box. After you watch the video, you can read the steps that are carefully documented and written below.
Enjoy!
Supplies
For this project you will need 27 Lego pieces shown above. It will be best if you gather all the pieces before you start.
Video
Here is the stop-motion video.
Detailed instructions are below.
Start to Build
First get the two 2x3 plates and place them side by side.
Add the 2x2 tile on top, connecting them.
Build...
Now get the two 1x3 bricks and place them on the sides of the tile.
Get the 1x1 brick and the 1x1 tile and put them in as shown above.
Build...
Now we'll make the payload, or the cash that you have to try to extract from the box.
Get the three pieces shown in the image (grill piece, 2x2 plate, and money piece) and stack them together with the 2x2 on the bottom.
Build...
Now simply place the payload onto the base we made in steps 2-3.
Note: No studs should click into place when you do this; the payload should easily be able to slide out.
Now cover it up with a 2x4.
Build...
Put the box aside for now. Get a 1x4 plate and the translucent 1x1 piece and put them together as shown above. Connect it to the box like so.
Build...
Now we need to add these pieces as shown above: a 1x4, 1x2, and another 1x2. Note: the pieces on the right side of the first image are just there to show the next pieces you will need.
Add another 1x2 and a 1x2 tile on top.
Let's keep going!
Build...
Add the jumper piece and the two 1x2s as shown in the picture. We also need to add another 1x4.
Build...
Get the pieces shown in the first image ready.
The 1x4 tiles go on the top and the bottom sides, and the translucent 1x2 tile should go in the center gap.
Now for the final step, add the last two 1x2 tiles as shown in the image.
Great Job!
Finished!
Congratulations! You just built your own Lego puzzle box!
Hmmm... Can you solve it?
Take some time to try and figure it out.
Because this is a puzzle, I'm going to leave it up to you to get the cash hidden inside.
I hope you had a great time making this puzzle.
Have a great day!
