Use the hot glue gun to stick the pieces. First stick the facade over the floor, justly over the line that separates the floor from the floor of the porch. Later, glue the side wall by putting hot glue in the floor and in the union of both pieces, like it is showed in the photos. Reinforce with more glue on the inside.

Take the back facade and the other side wall. First, use hot glue to stick the side wall. Put hot glue in the floor and in one side of the facade (the process is like the one showed in the previous step). After that, grab the back facade. You must apply the hot glue in the floor and in both side walls. Put pressure on the cardboard to stick better the pieces.

Now it is time to paint!

Use thick paint brushes and brown acrylic paint to paint a "base layer". You must paint the facade, the two side walls, the back facade and the floor of the porch.

Wait until it has completely dried to continue.

Paint the Details

1659260971498.jpg
1659260971644.jpg
1659260971438.jpg

To paint the details you need brown, white and black. Mix brown with white to get light brown and mix brown with black to get dark brown. Now you can start applying the details. Take a little bit of dark brown with a paint brush, and paint lines. They don't have to be perfect. After that, take a bit of light brown paint and do the same. You have to try to make it look as if it was made out of wood. Use the color brown, the light brown and the dark brown to paint lines in the floor of the porch like in the image. Finally, with dark brown outline the door and the window of the facade.

Paint the Roof

1659260971388.jpg
1659260971400.jpg

Take the two pieces of the roof. To paint it you need a sponge. I choose to paint it on red, but you can use any color. I mix red and white to get a lighter color, as acrylic paint usually tends to become darker when it dries. Then, paint the two pieces with the sponge.

Wait until it has completely dried to continue.

Decorate the Windows

1659260971265.jpg
1659260971238.jpg

Cut a lot of strips in the black poster board (0,5cm) and stick with glue the strips in the windows to cover the cardboard and decorate.

Stick the Roof

Create the Columns

20220730_123001.jpg
20220730_122944.jpg

To do this step, you need the white cork, jute fine cord and double sided tape. Cut two columns (2 cm of width x 28 cm of height). You must do a diagonal cut in the upper part of each column. Put two piece of double sided tape in each column and wrap the jut fine cord. Repeat this procese two times to get two columns.

Finally, stick the columns to join together the roof with the floor of the porch.

The cottage for cats is ready!
