DIY Cardboard Escape Game
Hello! The basic idea behind this escape game is that there are all these puzzles, that look really tempting, but actually the only way to open the box is to remove the bottom, without having to solve anything! It is great as a gift wrap for someone or just for fun. I hope you enjoy!
Supplies
- any cardboard box
- small piece of cardboard
- sate stick
- bottle cap
- coin
- push pin
- black fineliner
- 2 differently coloured markers
- coloured paint marker
- pencil
- glue stick
- super glue
- craft knife
- set triangle
The Actual Puzzle
- Glue the lid closed.
- Draw out the puzzle on three sides of the box.
- Next cut with the set knife, but dont cut too deep! It only needs to look cut. Then actually cut out a shape which will be the removable bottom.
The Accessory
- First, draw some glasses and a moustache (or other accessories), cut them out and glue them to the side of the box.
- Cut a slit for the coin to move through.
- Draw an arrow, showing that you can move it.
- Cut a piece of a sate stick, and glue it to the coin.
- Insert the coin into the slit.
The Confusing Keyhole
- Draw a key, cut it out and glue it onto the other side of the box.
- Poke a hole with a pencil.
- Write "insert here"
The Pushpin Mystery
- Draw out the pattern.
- Cut fully with the set knife.
- Add numbers and dots at the corners and insert the pushpin.
The Fake Lock
- Colour the bottle cap and draw an arrow.
- Cut another piece off the sate stick and glue it onto the bottle cap.
- Poke a hole into the lower bottom of the top of the box and instert the bottle cap, you should now be able to spin it.
- Draw on the numbers.
Title Sign
- Write the title and subtitle.
- Glue it onto the top of the box.
