DIY Ab Straps
After seeing how much these straps cost online, I decided to make my own.
With ab straps you can exercise your abs. You also can perform no-arm pull-ups (very hard exercise).
In this instructable you will learn how I did it, so you can make a pair for yourself or for a friend.
Materials and Tools
You will need :
- a utility knife
- several meters of synthetic fibre rope (1.5 cm in diameter)
- hot glue gun with several hot glue rods
- two heavy duty carabiners
- chain (4 x 2 cm each link)
- a hacksaw
- insulation pad
Choose the insulation pad to offer good support for your arms.
I used a material used in soundproofing. It has 1 cm thickness.
Cut and Loop
Cut with your utility knife two identical pieces of the insulation pad with dimensions 25 x 30 cm.
Shape it like a U and begin looping the rope around the pads. Make 8-9 loops and cut the ends.
Glue
Keep restraining the pad to the U shape and glue the rope to the pad with your glue gun.
Use liberal amounts of glue. Keep it like that until the glue hardens.
Secure the Chain
Next, cut with a hacksaw 6 rings from the chain for each hanger. Loop them in a carabiner.
You Are Done!
Enjoy your new ab straps. Now go do some exercise!
