Design for DIY 3-D Printed Miniature Desk and Lamp
In this Instructable, you'll use a detailed, step-by-step process for making a 1/10th of a regular-size, miniature desk complete with a 3D-printed lamp. This creation can be used for various purposes such as decoration or to practice your creating skills on a computer design program.
Supplies
To complete this Instructable, all you'll need is a 3D printer. If you'd like to make your desk more unique, you can also grab some colored markers, coloring pencils, or paint.
Choosing What I Wanted to Do
At the start, I knew I would use Onshape to make my entry. My first draft was going to be a bench but I felt that I needed to make something more challenging so I settled on making a desk.

Ideas for the Desk
For my desk, I did not base my design on one desk but I used different elements from desks I saw online such as the cup holder and the USB ports. I based the actual desk on the Vivistand Quattro
Making the Desk
I first made the rough design of the desk making the legs, top, and the whole in the middle for storing things. Here you can also see the measurements for how big I made my desk.
Extrusion
Then I extruded my sketch by 2 inches to make the base then chamfered the sides to make them look Smoove
Cup Holder
I then made a circle then extruded it 0.5 inches to make the cup holder
Legs
I then extruded off the sides of the desk to make the legs.
Lamp
I based my lamp on the desk off the linked lamp I first made the base then I made a triangle shape and extruded it to make the lamp.

Desk File
Once you download the STL file for the desk, you'll have the option to rescale the model to another size. Additionally, the desk features a lamp on its right edge, which you can either keep or remove.
Coloring the Desk
Adding color to your miniature desk while not necessary can make the desk look beautiful. Whether you prefer paint, markers, or coloring pencils, you can use any of these options to add your desired model and enhance its overall appearance. Simply apply the colors wherever you'd like and enjoy the results!
