Cylinderscale
Over the course of a few weeks we have been working on building a balance scale and building a gradulated cyinder and now that we have took lots of pictures, used many suppiles, time and hard work we will finally be able to show off our good work and show all the time we've spent on this fun on hand project the next 9 steps you will be able to see the the things iv'e I have used and worked on over the weeks almost months.
Supplies
- coat hanger
- string
- tape
- two plastic cup
- sara
Supplies for Cylinder
- plastic Water bottle
- marker
- marbles (to test)
- scissors
- ruler/tape mesuer
Balance Scale Steps
- Cut string to 12 inches
- Tie strings to each side of coat hanger
- cut a little hole in both of your plastic cups
- tie the strings through the little holes
- Make sure to tie string on first so when you tie the string through the cups with already be on the hanger
- out line a square in the cups that are on the hanger
- Then cut out the outline
- Put saran wrap on the cut out
- tape the saran wrap from the inside of the cut out
- make sure your cups hang at the same length
- test an make sure it's sucrue and then your done with the balance scale
Cylinder Steps
- Take cap off and remove the piece that sucrese the cap
- Take off the paper around the bottle
- take any acsess glue off from the paper
- Wash out bottle
- mesure with ruler where you tick marks are going to be
- then use pencil to outline where the tick marks will be
- then go over the pencil tick marks with sharpie
- and text and make sure stuff can fit
Balance Scale Testing
First I tested it by using to clear eggs with the same amount of slime in them and it was balanced so that is one way I knew it worked. Another way I know it worked with uneven things I put an eraser in one end and then then I used a battery in the other end and the battery side up and the eraser side went down that is another obvious way it worked. That is how I tested my balance scale and the objects I used.
Gradulated Cylinder Testing
This is how I tested my Cylinder and what I put in it to test it. So what I used at first was a ring that goes around the water bottle and that stayed down at the bottom but when I tried a very light weight pom pom and it came right up the service. That is one way I found out my cylinder worked.
Tools I Used to Compare Density of Objects
First tool I used is when we ere doing a density lab and the first object I used was on my cylinder and I used was a paper ball and an eraser. So first I put in the eraser and it stayed at the bottom and then I did the paper ball and that was hard to see but it came up a little little bit so shows that the paper ball is less dense because it was very hallow so it went up but the eraser was so thick it stayed down.
That's a Wrap on Homemade Balance Scale and Cylinder
This was a monthly proscess and took lots of hard work and this was my hardest work so I hope whoever is seeing this learned something. This is a very fun project and it's not hard to make either but it stills needs a lot of hard work but it's always worth it when you can your hands on something and work hard. That is my conlousion on balance scale and cylinder homemade steps.
