Creamy Potatoes Au Gratin

Creamy-Potato-Gratin.jpg

Potatoes Au Gratin or Garlic Potatoes are one of our favorite dishes especially when topped with a lot of cheese. This dish is not difficult to make, in fact all you have to do is slice some potatoes, put them in an oven-proof dish, pour over cream mixture and top with a lot of cheese! Stick it in the oven and wait until ready!

Preheat oven to 225°C.

Wash, peel & slice the potatoes really thin. Place them in an oven-proof dish.

Use garlic press to crush the garlic cloves then mix together with horseradish, flour, milk and cream.

Using your hands or a wooden spoon gently push the potatoes down and pour the mixture over to coat them. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour or until cooked.

Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

TIP:
You can parboil the potatoes first (about 7 minutes) to reduce the time in the oven.

I like to serve them with a spicy sauce (now we a homemade pepper/tomato sauce that goes well with this dish)
