Cornbread Pizza
Try a new form of pizza which is simple to make and tasty! It only takes 15 minutes and has a sweet taste with the cornbread crust.
Supplies
1 box corn bread mix (I used Krusteaz- any will work)
2/3 cup of milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
cooking spray
1 clove of garlic
1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
sprinkling of Parmesan cheese
15 oz can of crushed tomatoes
9x13 baking pan
Spraying the Pan
Spray the pan with cooking spray on sides and bottom. Preheat the oven to 350F.
Mix the Ingredients
I used the brand Krusteaz cornbread mix, but any will work.
In a large bowl, mix together the cornbread mix, milk, vegetable oil and egg. Stir until blended.
Prepare the Pan
Pour the cornbread into the pan. Make sure it is evenly spread across the pan. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Bake until just cooked. It doesn't have to be a dark golden color as it will cook again with the topping. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
Add the Toppings
Spread crushed tomatoes on top of the cornbread. Mince one clove of garlic and spread on top.
Spread the mozzarella cheese on the sauce and sprinkle Parmesan cheese to cover it.
Bake 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and sauce is warmed. Check on it every few minutes.
