Copper Framed Lamp
Copper (15mm) framed LED lamp. solid pine base with LED bulb providing energy efficiency
Supplies
Solid timer - 27 x 21cm.
Copper 15mm Lengths 10cm x4, 25cm x2 x4 90 compression elbows, x2 T joints
LED bulb and holder, 3 core 0.75mm wire (2M), in line switch, 3 pin plug,
- Router edge of timber providing a 'softer' finish.
- Find middle of timber and with 15mm spade bit drill down- The T piece fits snugly into the 15mm hole created.
- Using a 10mm wood bit (for wire) drill to meet the 15mm hole- see image.
- Gently burn the timber, lightly sand and apply x3 coats of varnish (polyurethane).
Copper Frame Assembly
Cut 15mm copper to sizes as outlined.
- thread wire through the T connector first--> 10cm piece--> elbow--> 25cm piece--> elbow--> 10cm piece--> 2nd T piece. DO NOT tighten yet as the wire needs connected to the lamp holder.
- Connect lamp holder.
- Gently pull wire so the lamp holder fits tightly against the T piece- see image.
- Now add the remaining copper pieces, tighten- this will leave the frame of the lamp- see image.
- Pass the wire through the 15mm hole in the timber and out the 10mm hole.
- Connect a switch and plug.
Copper Frame Connection
Insert T piece from the frame into the 15mm hole in the timber.
The light frame will hold itself up.
Clamp the frame into position with x2 15mm Brass/ copper clamps as / photo.
Connect Bulb
we used an LED bulb (E27- screw fitting).
This is where you can have fun with different bulbs against the timber and copper.
Copper can be cleaned using wire wool.
